Following the path of the iron ore, Pilgrimage shows the moment since its extraction process from the mines to its transport to the seaport, where it is shipped abroad. From the research and documentation of mining processes in different locations of Minas Gerais state, the artist creates a trajectory in images, registering the physical transformation and material depuration—with precise use of forms, colors, and perspectives—, referring to the idea of pilgrimage as a journey of spiritual purification. Through a view that reinvents the status of the occurrence, the work reflects on the relationship between nature and culture, and redirects the relationship between viewer, work, and industry.
