The title alludes to the condition of a town divided into two sections of controlled communication, one by the National Palestinian Authority and the other by the Israeli government, despite the city being 99.98% Palestinian. Sharett trains her gaze on the women with whom she has daily contact, particularly attentive to the cultural and political aspects of living in a divided city.
