In this film, the artist presents in a prospective and delicate way the spontaneity of the photography of Hashem El Madani, who used to take his super-8 camera to film friends and family while in vacation. Divided in five parts, the video shows footage of his summer vacations in the 1960s and 1970s. Through an emotional and family history, the video presents various elements that portray customs of Arab culture in apparent harmony with Western mass culture values. In a broader sense, it brings back to visual culture, meaningful elements of a social history that exists beneath the reductionist views conveyed by mainstream media.
