This performance by the group Chelpa Ferro comprises a live music presentation combined with projections of edited, pre-recorded footage. The music is a combination of musical instruments (guitar, bass, keyboard) and unconventional objects like an orange squeezer, door bells and a knife sharpener. The music group, comprising six musicians (four members of the group and the guests Dado Villa-Lobos and Carlos Laufer), is integrated with the video footage shown, edited on the fly from a small studio in a room adjoining the stage. O Gabinete de Chico was inspired by a text from an old encyclopaedia, which was adapted and used in the performance.  The piece was commissioned by Associação Cultural Videobrasil, and is emblematic of the work of the group, formed in 1996 by Luiz Zerbini, Barrão, Sérgio Meckler and Chico Neves.

In 2013, during the 18th Festival, the group presented Reboot, a rereading of O Gabinete de Chico. Watch a video of this performance on Channel VB
