The artist discusses her piece Vive Le Capital, which revisits two different times in history to address the 2008 financial meltdown: the French revolution, in the 18th century, and the days of Cosimo de Médici, in 15th century Italy, when the first banks were founded and the banking system emerged. According to Orit, the goal of her work is to question why we keep living in a system with so many problems, which has us spend a huge amount of both labor and money to life a mediocre life. As a counterpoint to this way of living, the Israeli tries to explore the virtue of giving without getting anything in return. She also touches on her references to French film noir and her connection with dance.
