The artist from São Paulo discusses her piece Teoria das Bordas, featured in the 18th Festival. She highlights temporality as a key element in the piece, which transforms as the exhibit goes on. According to her, each time the piece is shown, her own understanding of it is enriched by what she calls the “ruins” of past works. Alluding to these past works, Myrrha interprets the piece as a form of dealing with something that bothered her upon working with the materials she chose for each of her works. She expounds on her desire for synthesis, which has accompanied her throughout her career. Finally, she comments on the Festival’s opening process – from video to other media –, highlighting the specialization that video undergoes upon being set up in an exhibition venue. In this regard, she considers that the event has evolved along with her own recent research into video.
