The curator of the exhibition "Quanto pesa uma nuvem?” [How heavy is a cloud?], Ana Pato comments on her dialogue with the artist Giselle Beiguelman throughout the creative process leading to the artworks featured in the show, which were inspired by the artist’s life experiences during her trip to Poland, the land of her grandparents, at the invitation of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, as part of the celebrations of the year of Poland in Brazil. The curator stresses the intent to explore the boundaries between history and art, in pieces that focus on written memories and set out to build a historiography-in-process. Pato stresses that the role of the voice in these archive- and memory-related artworks is to point a way out of hermetic research and build a history through eyewitness accounts.
