Afroditi Psarra, Maria Varela and Marinos Koutsoumichalis present Oiko-nomic Threads, an installation activated by the trio during the opening week of the 19th Festival. The work inaugurated the inclusion of Greece among the countries included in the open call of the Festival, which contemplates creators born or resident in the countries of the so-called Global South. They explain the work's operational system, that links a knitting machine to a computer, combining data from the Greek National Employment Service with traditional Hellenic patterns, generating new plots and motifs. Finally, they reflect on the experience of working together.
