The Chilean artist talks about the video Pacífico, during the opening week of the 19th Festival. The work, participant of the Southern Panoramas | Selected Works show, is contextualized by Ramirez against the background of his oeuvre, in which travelling, real or imaginary, and the sea are recurring themes that function as allegories of social and political history of Latin America's social and pilitical history, Chile in particular. According to him, in Pacífico these themes are used to address the so-called Operation Condor: the military and political alliance between the various dictatorships installed between the 70s and the 80s in south american countries.
