The artist presents his work Escultura abstracta, one of the works selected for the 19th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil, commenting that the sculpture replicates a type of decorative brick that Peruvian building material stores sold a lot of during the 1960s and 70s and which was used to separate the house from the street. Aramburu highlights the modern feature of these modular bricks that also functioned as a protective element against the city. Variations in color and brightness confer the material a natural appearance although the work is constituted entirely by artificial material. “What interests me was to create this curved wall to turn it into sculpture in order to extract this architectural element and convert it into a cultural element”.
