During the opening week of the 19th Festival, the artist from Ceará talks about the process of creating the video Myxomatosis taking as a starting point an archive from his family. In this piece, film stills are projected in a slaughterhouse; exposed innards, blood, flesh, and the artist’s action alter the dynamics of space, causing a clash of contexts. These displacements lead Ribeiro to seek the pulsating activation of new forms of exercising image, cinema, and its cuts.
