The lebanese artist talks about his works Beit El Baher e Here and There – São Paulo Edition, exhibited in the 20th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil. In the video Beit El Baher, financial comfort of a dinner contrasts with existential discomfort that perpass the intellectual and emotional issues of a generation of Arabs trapped between ideological ruins, fears, and desires. In the performance Here and There – São Paulo Edition, a curtain-wall, similar to that Syrians used to protect themselves, is set up in the Festival space by an actress who sews a patchwork of Eastern fabrics with a tapestry needle while reciting a text. The artist states: “It is much more a generation of the arab world, they are roaming over the ruins of old ideologies and values".
