Artists Mella Jaarsma and Tirzo Martha discuss strategies for building art institutions in marginalized countries. The conversation, mediated by Museum for the Displaced co-founder and curator Ana Sophie Salazar (Ecuador), draws on the experience of Videobrasil and the independent spaces created by Jaarsma in Indonesia and Martha in Curaçao. Jaarsma is co-founder of the Cemeti Institute for Art & Society and Martha is co-founder of the Buena Bista Institute - Curacao Center for Contemporary Art, founded in 2006.

The conversation was part of the Public Programs of the 22nd Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil.
