Winner of the O.F.F. Award, Bo Wang participates in the 22nd Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil, at Sesc 24 de Maio, with "The revolution will not be air-conditioned".
The Chinese artist starts from the protests against extradition in Hong Kong and mixes images from different contexts to reflect on how shopping malls have evolved from their colonial roots of conquest into a machine of consumerism and social control, and how their architectural design can be subverted, converting isolated and sterilized spaces into a field for political action.
