"I Vídeo Rallye/SP" was conceived as a workshop on video techniques for beginners interested in videotape image production, coordinated by Luiz Algarra and Alberto Blumenschein.

The "rallye" took place in São Paulo, featuring 10 teams with two members each. For a maximum of twelve hours of work, the PILOT operated the camera, following instructions from the NAVIGATOR, who controlled image timing and sequencing with a stopwatch and a filming chart.

Shown in an installation of 10 paired up monitors, fed by images generated simultaneously by 10 VCRs, the action produced a collective graphical and rhythmical result, articulating the learning of videotape techniques through an integrated creation and production process whereby chance and fun played equally important roles.
