In a sequence of flashes, authors talk about their work and incite the audience into action

The artist’s message

The Austrian Peter Payer is a young video and cinema director living in Vienna, dedicated to a varied production among which we find commercials, programs, short films, documentaries and clips. The program he presents at this years VideoBrazil is a Museum in Progress production, in collaboration with Austrian television ORF. It is a rapid sequence of images - or clips, as he prefers,- lasting somewhere between 1 and 2 minutes and produced originally in 16mm with a television format. The images consist of artist’s statements about their work, in which they offer advice , convey messages and share experiences that incite the audience to produce their own videos. Each artist elaborated and created their statements and the result is an expressive collection of the creative video making process. The program shown at VideoBrazil unites statements from more than a dozen artists including British Dave Stewart, Americans Jonas Mekas, Yoko Ono and Lawerence Weiner, Italian Michelangelo Pistolleto and Austrian Robert Jelinek.
