The first panel in this edition of the Festival was coordinated by the journalist Ethevaldo Siqueira, and featured audiovisual professionals, with an emphasis on the television industry.
The topics discussed during the panel were: the opposition between the traditional TV format and videotape aesthetics; broadcasting space for then-new languages in the face of emerging technologies such as cable TV, DBS (Direct Broadcasting System) and UHF subscription TV; and fascination with sophisticated techniques in image production and manipulation, computer animation and its implications on language and the market.
