Marcel Odenbach’s video installations are developments of his video works. Departing from the medium’s traditional screening mode, he disrupts the strict stage/audience relationship, this “fourth wall” that audiovisual has inherited from theater. By creating sections, angles and spaces between the projection screens, the artist forges ahead in his effort to get the audience in contact with the different layers in image construction.
The exhibition took up the entire 5th floor of SESC Avenida Paulista and featured the premier of Disturbed Places – Five Variations on India, created with backing from the Festival and Goethe-Institut.
