In the past and present, racism has depended on cultural systems to justify itself. Often, art has been used as a tool to promote white supremacy. Artists and curators of the 22nd Biennial, whose practice centers around the body, discuss the way in which images help to sustain prejudices and corroborate imaginaries of fear and desire.

Bringing together artists and curators participating in the Biennial, as well as critics and representatives of Brazilian and foreign organizations, these meetings discuss the ideas of archive, memory and community, and encourage the exchange of experiences and ideas, interdisciplinary dialogue and critical reflection.
