The author of a comprehensive work in video and installation, his is graduated in fine arts and visual communication at Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Through noises, interferences, and a wide range of disruptions in technical apparatuses, his works seek to reinstate the vitality to images, often lost amidst the clichés of the cultural industry. He directed the feature film Enredando as pessoas (1995), which received prizes in movie festivals in Havana and Switzerland. Santos held the solo shows Suspensão e Fluidez, at Madri’s ARCO, Spain (2009); and Roteiro Amarrado, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2010). His videos are part of the collections of institutions such as the Musem of Modern Art, New York, and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. He lives and works in Belo Horizonte.
