She is a filmmaker, producer and documentary filmmaker. Her films deal with the contradictions of social and political life in Israel and the country’s relations with the remainder of the Middle East. Graduated from the New York University Film School in 1995. Living between Israel and the United States, she had her debut in 1996 with the documentary Never Again Forever, which featured in over 25 festivals around the world. In 2001 she made Another Road Home, which won a prize at the 2003 Sundance Festival and was regarded by specialized critics as one of the most honest and sensitive films ever made on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In addition to political life, Elon also tackles the customs and family life in her native country, as in Partly Private, a lighthearted discussion on male circumcision.
