Under the alias Fisternni since 1996, Jorge Castro works with real-time sound and image processing. A frequent subject of his is memory-related issues, as seen in his San R series about political prisoners who vanished during the military dictatorship period in Argentina, and in the Jorge Luís Borges-based Palindrome. He uses digital processes to shape up hidden visual and sound structures. Since 1990, he has featured in electronic art festivals around the world, in countries like Switzerland, Hong Kong, Mexico, Brazil and Spain. He is an associate curator at Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Chateau Carreras in Cordoba, Argentina. He has collaborated with various artists like Jorge Haro, Zbigniew Karkowski, Chuck Bettis, Richard Chartier, Cornucopia, Merzbo, Pablo Reche, and Alva Noto.
