Journalist, started working in the press at age 16. He worked for newspaper Jornal do Brasil and magazine O Cruzeiro, and was the newspaper’s editor when the report A Morte de Vlado Herzog (The Death of Vlado Herzog) was published. He wrote a book on the case, titled A Sangue Quente. He worked for alternative press vehicles O Bondinho and Ex-, and was among the founders of newspaper Jornal da Tarde and magazine Placar. He was also the regional editor of TV news program TJ-Brasil, on TV channel SBT. He won the 1971 Esso Journalism Prize for a news report on the Amazon, published in Realidade magazine.
