Interview on TV Cultura’s Metrópolis show | October 1988

Journalist Ricardo Soares interviewed the American artist Aysha Quinn on occasion of the video show dedicated to her oeuvre at the Festival. Aysha explained that she approaches her art as a means to vent her frustrations. She spoke shortly on the differences between Brazilian and American TV, and commented briefly on the Nam June Paik’s video legacy. Regarding her work, she emphasized her intention to combine high technology and primitive themes – she is interested in Indian communities, such as New York’s Iroquois tribe.
