A collection of Fernando Gabeira’s video works, aired on TV Bandeirantes’ “Sexta Feira” (Friday) show.

Fernando Gabeira worked with a very heterogeneous team, comprising the cameraman Mario Ferreira, who served as Foreign correspondent for many years; editor Otávio Escobar, whose original background was in American television language; and the producer Marta Ferraris; striving to find a suitable language for political video, he approached subject matters such as Agrochemicals, Aids, Atomic Waste in the city of Itu, people who panhandle at traffic lights and the Alternative Communities Summit in the city of Pindamonhangaba.

Regarding his work, Gabeira explains: “We built on the realization that the big political issues, when addressed only verbally, reach a small number of people. When translated into visual language, in a country such as Brazil, they increase their potential for causing disquietation and encouraging debate.”
