Curator's text Rosa Méndez, 1990
In the eighties, the need to communicate, to experiment different forms and languages, to search for new roads in the world of art, led our artists to use an electronic support that at the time was just being discovered here. The first video Festivals of 1984 and 1986 showed clearly that video was already being used as an artistic creation medium. A first generation of authors, represented at this show by Antonio Cano, Pedro Garhel, as well as José Ramon da Cruz and Javier Vadillo, who continue to experiment with this constantly renewed media, is followed by another one, equally convinced of the possibilities offered by it. And this not only in video art, as is the case of Eusebio Morin, Kres Group, Alberto Matran and Ramon Verdet, but also in videoclip, as the Maru Basamon Group.
