Open call for artists from the southern circuit, in any languages and formats

The International Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2013, and affirms its position as one of the major Brazilian initiatives for the dissemination of art. It so happens because it has always been a trailblazer, at first by dedicating to video art in a fledgling context and later by paying attention to artistic production from the geopolitical Southern countries, which are peripheral or only circumstantially settled into the main art system. The Southern Panoramas exhibition, the central segment of the Festival, toasts the art of that circuit, which covers Latin America, Caribbean, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, and Southern Asia.

Open July 16 through October 15, 2012, the Southern Panoramas call selects artists from those regions. Works in any languages or formats can participate. The exhibition, which is due to take place as of October 2013, will include awards for residency in international partner institutions. The application process for selection is totally online. Learn more about the Festival and the Southern Panoramas show, and submit up to three projects.
