Inspired in the principle of free, interdisciplinary exercise of creativity, the Educational Curated Program for this show comprised two symbolical headquarters for the Free International University (F.I.U.). Established by Joseph Beuys in 1973, the F.I.U. aims to prompt reflection about the present and the future of society. The units remained active for the duration of the show at SESC Pompeia and MAM, in Bahia.

The F.I.U. units hosted a busy free schedule of meetings, debates, workshops, and public conversations where the artist’s ideas were the focus of reflexive activities, such as thematic seminars, workshops, and practices in which participants experimented with forms of creative expression explored by Beuys.

Educational meetings for teachers and educators were based around the teaching and learning of art, with an emphasis on Beuys’ work. Additionally, a special program for children and their families introduced them to the symbolic dimension in Joseph Beuys’s oeuvre.
