Simone Michelin is an artist and obtained her master’s degree in Visual Arts at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is a graduate student pursuing her PhD at the Caiia-Star Center of Science, Technology and Research, University of Plymouth, England. Developed the project "Domínio Público – Intervenções Públicas: Aumentando a Interação Social com a Mediação do Computador" (Public Domain –Public Interventions: Enhancing Social Interaction Through the Computer). She was one of the pioneers of the video art in Brazil. Among the awards she received are the Photograph Award in the 10th Rio de Janeiro Salon, RioArte, and the Researcher Artist Award of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio de Janeiro. As multimedia artist and researcher, she uses various technologies to produce her art. She is a researcher and a curator in field of electronic art.
