Visual artist and filmmaker. He works with various media such as film, photography, installation and object. Prior to embracing the visual arts as his primary field of action, he focused on cinema. By cross-pollinating the possibilities inherent to both these languages, he strives to renovate the sensitive potency of what is most common to us all, in a poetics permeated by subtleties and silence. The holder of a degree from the School of Communication and Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), he studied photography at the Guignard School of the Minas Gerais State University (UEMG) and majored in cinema from PUC Minas/Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He participated in film festivals in Brazil and other countries, including the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival (2006); Festival de Brasília (2010); Sundance, USA (2007); Locarno, Switzerland (2006/7); among others. He was one of the founders of Teia – Centro de Pesquisa e Produção Audiovisual, an audiovisual research and production center in Belo Horizonte (2002/14). His work has been featured in solo exhibitions such as Coupure, Latence, Paris, Françce (2014); and in group exhibitions such as O desejo da Forma: Neoconcretismo and Contemporary Art from Brazil, Akademie der Künste, Berlin, Germany (2010); Panorama da Arte Brasileira, MAM, São Paulo (2011); The Storytellers, Stenersen Museum, Oslo, Norway (2012); the Sharjah Biennial, United Arab Emirates (UAE, 2013); among others. His work is part of the public collections of the Rio de Janeiro Museum of Modern Art; Rio Grande do Sul Museum of Art, Porto Alegre; the Pampulha Museum of Art, Belo Horizonte; Sharjah Art Foundation, UAE; among others. He lives and works in Belo Horizonte.
