The artist animates and manipulates excerpts from a 1960s pornographic photonovel, inserting geometric forms that blot out areas of the pictures and hide genitalia and specific sex acts from view. C.U.L.O. is a plastic and ironic take on censorship as a bureaucratic exercise that believes in suppressing the obvious in order to hide the whole. The work speaks of resistance whilst delving into the visuality of an outmoded eroticism in order to subvert its effects.
