The publication Amphibology, Translation is part of the project Anfibologia, Tradução, based on expressions, words and ideas culled from accounts of experiences in the city of Warsaw. From those remarks, the artist built sentences that contemplate the multiplicity of perspectives, contradictions and ambiguities in the building of perceptions of the city. Result from these experiences an installation, composed of those sentences which take up both the exhibition space and unexpected places in Galpão VB, and a book. The typographic and textual work reinforces the artist’s interest in amphibology as the exploration of the ambiguities that arise when, due to lack of clarity or the use of words with several meanings, a sentence becomes a double entendre. The piece was commissioned under the Videobrasilin Context #2 project and conceived during Vitor Cesar’s residency stint at the A-I-R Laboratory, in May and June, 2015 in Warsaw, Poland.
