In Sem Título #4, a landscape built entirely on the computer is digitally added to the recorded image of a person moving back and forth on a swing. Only the processed sound of a heart beat is heard, accompanying the loop sequence. The image processing through the addition, touch-up, and editing is an attempt to convince viewers of the truthfulness of the image shown, while making clear the artificiality of the landscape subjected to the action of the individual. The result is an overlapping of the common and the dreamlike on an image simultaneously recorded and virtual that refers to the cyclical and continuous movements of expansion and contraction, systole and diastole, intrinsic to living beings.
