The Moroccan artist comments on the two video programs presented at the MAM-BA in 2007, as part of the 16th Festival. The first program is a panel of works by her and touches on nomadism, exile and displacement. The second program is a selection of films and documentaries from the archives of the Cinémathèque de Tanger, in northern Morocco. Bouchra compares the atmospheres of Morocco and Brazil, especially that of the state of Bahia. According to her, there are many commonalities between both countries, particularly the way they deal with heterogeneity and syncretism. Regarding her own work, Bouchra says she strives to be “in between”: in between cinema and the visual arts, in between video and documentary, in between border places.
