The artist discusses her Sympathy for the Devil, featured in the 18th Festival. The video installation tells a true story that occurred in Joskowicz’s family, as a Polish Jew and a former Nazi officer live in the same building in La Paz, after World War 2. She claims that although at first it seems a bit cliché, the title song by the Rolling Stones suits the plot perfectly, since it lists a hundred atrocities mankind impinged upon itself throughout the centuries. Joskowicz reminisces on her stint as a resident at Bahia’s Sacatar Institute – a partner of Associação Cultural Videobrasil –, and comments on her relationship with pop culture.
