Memory plays a vital role in building individual and collective identities, but it is usually considered in contexts of stability. Bringing together Froiid (Brazil), Natalia Lassalle-Morillo (Puerto Rico) and Youqine Lefèvre (China), under the mediation of Nomaduma Masilela (Germany), the meeting addresses the impact of forced displacement, banishment, exile and war on the memory of individuals and peoples, on cultural representation and on the historical understanding for different generations.

The conversation was part of the Public Programs of the 22nd Bienal Sesc_Videobrasil.
