Painter, sculptor, and draftsman, he holds a degree in visual arts from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado, São Paulo. His work appropriates scenes and objects from daily life, introducing elements that trigger strangeness, irony, and sarcasm, tackling social and racial issues. The set of twelve pieces, which includes paintings and sculptures, offers an overview of the production of the artist, dead in early 2017. The works accomplish an exchange between the domestic and the public spheres, historical record, and mythological fantasy, revealing gentleness, affection, and strangeness as counterpoints to the culture of consumption and the stereotypes of black masculinity.
