Rio Preto city hosts Videobrasil On Tour

SESC unit features 16 awarded works from the 17th Festival, until October 7

From August 8, São Jose do Rio Preto (in São Paulo state) receives Videobrasil on Tour 2012-2013 exhibition, featuring the Southern Panoramas competitive show winnig works, from the 17th International Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil. The selection of 16 works from Brazil, Lebanon, Israel, India, Bolivia, China and Argentina, includes a installation, two paintings, video installations and seven videos.

Four conceptual axis organize the show: Cartographies of affection brings works seeking possible representations of the subjectivity; Nature and culture presents works that unfold the genre landscape; optical devices providing new sigh possibilities integrate the module Viewing Machines; Political landscapes addresses artistically the social dilemmas. These are works by: Akraam Zatari, Claudia Joskowicz, Adriano Costa, Liu Wei, Gabriel Mascaro, Dirceu Maués, Carla Zaccagnini, Carolina Caliento, Guilherme Peters, Moran Shavit, Natasha Mendonca, Paulo Pjota Nimer, Regina Parra, Milton Machado and Caca Vicalvi, Eder Santos and Sebastian Diaz Morales.

The show, that is open in Rio Preto until October 7, was exhibited in Campinas, and exhibitions are planned in one more unit SESC, at Santos, and other spaces in Porto Alegre (RS), Recife (PE), Salvador (BA), Quito (Ecuador) and Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), among other cities.
