This February curator Solange Farkas is participating of Videonale 14 at Bonn, Germany, to be open on the 14th. She was invited to take part of the award jury of the biennial, which includes Stephan Berg, director of Kunstmuseum Bonn, gallerist Anita Beckers, curator Hans Michael Herzog (Daros Collection), and Ade Darmawan, artist and director of OK.Videofestival, Indonesia, who also participates, together with Solange, of a lecture on the video art in non-European countries. At the lecture, Farkas will present highlights from Videobrasil Collection, by Eder Santos and Cinthia Marcelle.

At the 14th Videonale around 50 works, chosen by an international jury of experts, will be presented during a seven-week exhibition in the Kunstmuseum Bonn. They will be supplemented by a curated section of video installations. This edition also features retrospective shows of Kenneth Anger and Gary Hill (who will attend at one of the scheduled events).

Founded in 1984, the biennial Videonale today counts as one of the oldest and most renowned festivals of video art in the world. Participants include such trend-setting artists as Dara Birnbaum, Lynn Hershman, Marcel Odenbach, Michael Smith, Bill Viola and others. To this day Videonale sees itself as a festival of national and international video art, both for ambitious young artists and for established artists.
