ART COMMUNE is an annual residency program from the Art Cultural Studies Laboratory (ACSL) held in Yerevan, Armenia. It promotes meetings between artists, curators, and critics from the world over, enabling cultural exchange and reflection on contemporary artistic practices, and fosters collaborative artwork production. maumau is the Turkish multi-cultural institution in charge of the mamau art residency program in Istanbul. Geared toward artists, curators and researchers of all nationalities, the program aims to provide an artistic environment conducive to individual productions and joint work in different languages, and even encourages local inhabitants to participate in the artistic creation process. The program will accept bids to participate in different periods next year, and deadlines vary depending on the chosen residency date; the submission deadline for the next residency is November 19. The Open Society Arts e Culture Program works to connect art, culture, human rights, and social aid. The program sets out to strengthen, develop and promote innovative art in regions that lack incentive. Proposals must focus on how the power of culture can help build more open societies in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), the Caucasus, Afghanistan, Moldova, Mongolia and Turkey. The deadline for project submission is December 31, and projects must involve cultural production activities, creation or enhancement of cultural platforms, or professional development and training.
