Opportunities for artists, curators and researchers

Fundação Joaquim Nabuco's 2013 Artist Residencies Project is aimed to Brazilian visual artists and foreigners who reside in Brazil. Artists  with selected proposals, sent until August 9, will each be granted a R$ 15.000,00 money prize. Learn more about the project here.

Festival on Wheels is a annual traveling event organized by the Ankara Cinema Association under the patronage of the Turkish Ministry of Culture. Will be accepted until August 15 short and full feature films submissions, of genres such as fiction, documentary, animation and experimental, which will travel around Turkey for one month. The 9th edition of the Simultan Festival will take place from October 10-12, under the theme Popular Unknown. Simultan is open for submissions of innovative works, which use technology in a creative way or are based on a peculiar story. Artists are allowed to send up to two works, in the categories of video, experimental video, fiction, documentary, experimental documentary, motion graphics, experimental animation and digital/generative. Submissions accepted until August 15 in the festival's website.

Included in the 11th edition of the Media Art Biennale, in Santiago, Chile, the International Competition for the Creation and Author of Media Arts Juan Downey is destinated to artists whose practices span from video to new media art, open to submissions until August 30. Three Eastern European institutions are open for submissions (until Sept. 9) for a joint research project focused on the topic of Shame (in its relation to the body, identity, society, etc.), to be undertaken in one of the following spaces: Miroslav Kraljevic Gallery (Zagreb), Center for Contemporary Arts (Celje) e Association for Culture and Art CRVENA (Sarajevo).
