The fourth edition of Caderno Sesc_Videobrasil, edited by Marcelo Rezende, features essays and images that reflect on the occupation of space as they relate art, architecture, history, society, design, memory, imagination and politics within different scenarios. Caderno 4 serves as an abbreviated guide and chart of the places in which society and culture convene in our days.

The American poet and essayist Alan Michael Parker takes the experience of mega-museums as a starting point from which to discuss the current art system. Daniel Hora reviews the iconization of opulence and hypermodernity in Dubai. The French philosopher Frédéric Neyrat tackles the suicidal impulse of civilization. Architect Marcelo Ferraz looks into the dialogue between art and audience in Lina Bo Bardi’s projects. Artist Rodrigo Matheus and filmmaker Laura Faerman test the way in which we produce mental representations of space. Fernando Oliva meets the Brazilian artist Renata Lucas, and Silas Martí discusses city and community with collectives Chto Delat, from Russia, and Oda Projesi, from Turkey.
